The first trading day of the week has investors questioning whether the Greek election results will be good or bad for the future of the European Union.
Good morning, this is Sayoko Murase with the Week Ahead Market Report for June 18, 2012.
In overseas trading, Japan's Nikkei 225 Stock Average was higher by 1.8%, while the Hang Seng gained just over 1%. The FTSE 100 and German DAX are both well off their highs, trading up just 0.3% currently.
On the earnings front, expect to hear from Adobe (NASDAQ:ADBE) and Barnes & Noble (NYSE:BKS) on Tuesday, as well as Bed, Bath & Beyond (NASDAQ:BBBY) on Wednesday and Chimera Investment (NYSE:CIM) and Oracle (NASDAQ:ORCL) on Thursday.
In economic news, expect to hear data on initial jobless claims and existing home sales on Thursday.
