The First Trust Energy AlphaDEX Fund ETF (AMEX:FXN) is seeing unusually high volume in afternoon trading Monday, with over 348,000 shares traded versus three month average volume of about 92,000. Shares of FXN were down about 0.2% on the day.
Components of that ETF with the highest volume on Monday were Chesapeake Energy (NYSE:CHK), trading up about 0.1% with over 6.3 million shares changing hands so far this session, and Peabody Energy (NYSE:BTU), down about 1.2% on volume of over 5.9 million shares. Denbury Resources (NYSE:DNR) is the component faring the best Monday, up by about 2.2% on the day, while Walter Energy (NYSE:WLT) is lagging other components of the First Trust Energy AlphaDEX Fund ETF, trading lower by about 4.3%.
