The SPDR S&P Global Natural Resources ETF (AMEX:GNR) is seeing unusually high volume in afternoon trading Tuesday, with over 844,000 shares traded versus three month average volume of about 40,000. Shares of GNR were up about 1.6% on the day.
Components of that ETF with the highest volume on Tuesday were Freeport-McMoran Copper (NYSE:FCX), trading up about 4.4% with over 6.4 million shares changing hands so far this session, and Alcoa (NYSE:AA), up about 2.9% on volume of over 6.1 million shares. Kinross Gold (TSE:K.CA) is the component faring the best Tuesday, up by about 6% on the day, while Archer Daniels Midland (NYSE:ADM) is lagging other components of the SPDR S&P Global Natural Resources ETF, trading lower by about 0.3%.
