The first trading day of the week has investors digesting news about the ongoing Libor scandal.
Good morning, this is Kristin Bianco with the Week Ahead Market Report for July 16, 2012.
In overseas trading, Japan's Nikkei 225 Stock Average was flat, while the Hang Seng was higher by about 0.15 percent. The FTSE 100 is flat and the German DAX is lower by about two tenths of a percent.
On the earnings front, expect to hear from Acme Packet (APKT) on Tuesday, Amcol International (NYSE:ACO) on Tuesday, Abbott Laboratories (NYSE:ABT) and Astoria Financial (NYSE:AF) on Wednesday, Capital One (NYSE:COF) on Thursday, and Ingersoll-Rand (NYSE:IR) on Friday.
In economic news, expect to hear data on CPI on Tuesday, housing starts on Wednesday, and leading indicators on Thursday.
