As the saying goes, there are many possible reasons for an insider to sell a stock, but only one reason to buy -- they expect to make money. So let's look at two noteworthy recent insider buys.
On Friday, Prospect Capital Corporation (NASDAQ:PSEC)'s CFO, Brian H. Oswald, made a $274,721 purchase of PSEC, buying 23,500 shares at a cost of $11.69 each. Oswald was up about 2.2% on the purchase at the high point of today's trading session, with PSEC trading as high as $11.95 at last check today. Prospect Capital Corporation is trading up about 2.2% on the day Tuesday. This purchase marks the first one filed by Oswald in the past year.
And on Thursday, Director Thomas K. Guba bought $151,198 worth of ARMOUR Residential REIT Inc. (NYSE:ARR), buying 20,000 shares at a cost of $7.56 each. ARMOUR Residential REIT Inc. is trading up about 0.3% on the day Tuesday. Guba was up about 0.7% on the purchase at the high point of today's trading session, with ARR trading as high as $7.61 in trading on Tuesday.
