Bargain hunters are wise to pay careful attention to insider buying, because although there are many various reasons for an insider to sell a stock, presumably the only reason they would use their hard-earned dollars to make a purchase, is that they expect to make money. Today we look at two noteworthy recent insider buys.
In the past week, Nature's Sunshine Products' (NASDAQ:NATR) Director, Willem Mesdag, made a $3.23M buy of NATR, purchasing a little more than 208,000 shares at an average cost of $15.52 a piece. So far Mesdag is in the green, up about 2.8% on their buy based on today's trading high of $15.95.
And also over the past week, Director Archie Dunham bought $1.5M worth of Chesapeake Energy (NYSE:CHK), buying 75,000 shares at an average cost of $20.00 a piece. Chesapeake Energy is trading up about 0.7% on the day Wednesday.
