The first trading day of the trading week opens with the Treasury opening an $18 billion offering of AIG (NYSE:AIG) stock, and investors fretting over a new trade report from China that may provide further evidence that the country's economy is slowing.
Good morning, this is Sayoko Murase with the Week Ahead Market Report for September 10, 2012.
In overseas trading, Japan's Nikkei 225 Stock Average was about even, while the Hang Seng was higher by about a tenth of a percent. The FTSE 100 was about even as was the German DAX.
On the earnings front, expect to hear from Pall (NYSE:PLL) on Wednesday, Analogic (NASDAQ:ALOG) and Argan (AMEX:AGX) on Thursday, as well as Cubic (NYSE:CUB) on Friday.
In economic news, expect to hear data on the trade balance on Tuesday, wholesale inventories on Wednesday, initial claims on Thursday, and capacity utilization on Friday.
