Comcast (NASDAQ:CMCSA) announced that net income more than doubled in the third quarter, helped by the sale of wireless spectrum to Verizon Wireless (NYSE:VZ) and its stake in the A&E TV channel to Disney (NYSE:DIS) and Hearst. The company also saw fewer cancelations than expected. Net income increased to $2.11 billion, or 78 cents per share, versus $908 million, or 33 cents per share, in the same period last year. Revenue increased by 15 percent to $16.54 billion exceeding the $16.07 billion expected by analysts.
