Peabody Energy Corporation (NYSE:BTU) announced that it earned 51 cents per share during the third quarter, beating estimates fo 34 cents. Earnings, were lower than last year's 90 cents per share, due to higher interest, amortization, depreciation, and depletion expenses. Revenue increased by 3.9% to $2.06 billion, exceeding analyst estimates of $1.97 billion.
Shares are higher by about 9.7 percent.
Lennox International (NYSE:LII) announced that profit for the third quarter fell by 13 percent to $29.4 million, or 57 cents per share, down from $33.8 million, or 64 cents per share, in the same period last year. Revenue increased by 1 percent to $809.7 million. The company raised full-year earnings and revenue guidance and said it expects to earn $2.60 to $2.80 per share, up from $2.35 to $2.65. Analysts expect revenue of $2.53 per share for the full year.
Shares are higher by about two tenths of a percent.
