The Rare Earth/Strategic Metals ETF (AMEX:REMX) is seeing unusually high volume in afternoon trading Friday, with over 122,000 shares traded versus three month average volume of about 92,000. Shares of REMX were down about 1% on the day.
Components of that ETF with the highest volume on Friday were Molycorp (NYSE:MCP), trading down about 2.8% with over 1.4 million shares changing hands so far this session, and Titanium Metals (TIE), off about 0.2% on volume of over 228,000 shares. Great Western Minerals Group Limited (CVE:GWG.CA) is the component faring the best Friday, up by about 4.1% on the day, while Thompson Creek Metal (TSE:TCM.CA) is lagging other components of the Rare Earth/Strategic Metals ETF, trading lower by about 3.1%.
