The Coal ETF (AMEX:KOL) is seeing unusually high volume in afternoon trading Monday, with over 405,000 shares traded versus three month average volume of about 225,000. Shares of KOL were up about 4.2% on the day.
Components of that ETF with the highest volume on Monday were Peabody Energy (NYSE:BTU), trading up about 13.4% with over 10.4 million shares changing hands so far this session, and Alpha Natural Resources (NYSE:ANR), up about 7.1% on volume of over 9.3 million shares. Westshore Terminals Investment C (TSE:WTE.CA) is lagging other components of the Coal ETF Monday, trading lower by about 0.1%.
