In trading on Thursday, the Gold Miners ETF (AMEX:GDX) is outperforming other ETFs, up about 2.9% on the day. Components of that ETF showing particular strength include shares of Agnico Eagle Mines Limited (NYSE:AEM), up about 6.8% and shares of Goldcorp (NYSE:GG), up about 5.1% on the day.
And underperforming other ETFs today is the Solar Energy ETF (AMEX:KWT), off about 1.3% in Thursday afternoon trading. Among components of that ETF with the weakest showing on Thursday were shares of Suntech Power Holdings Limited EA (NYSE:STP), lower by about 4.2%, and shares of Ldk Solar Limited (NYSE:LDK), lower by about 2.2% on the day.
