The first trading day of the trading week will have investors closely monitoring the weather on the East Coast of the United States as Hurricane Sandy approaches and threatens to cause billions of dollars in damages.
Good morning, this is Kristin Bianco with the Week Ahead Market Report for October 29, 2012.
In overseas trading, Japan's Nikkei 225 Stock Average was flat, while the Hang Seng was lower by about 0.16 percent. The FTSE 100 was lower by about four tenths of a percent and the German DAX was lower by about half of a percent.
On the earnings front, expect to hear from Archer Daniels Midland (NYSE:ADM) on Tuesday, Abiomed (NASDAQ:ABMD) on Wednesday, Credit Acceptance Corporation (NASDAQ:CACC) on Thursday, and Northstar Realty Finance (NYSE:NRF) as well as Nutrisystm (NASDAQ:NTRI) on Friday.
In economic news, expect to hear data on consumer confidence on Tuesday and initial claims on Thursday.
