Hillenbrand announced that earnings were higher by 6 percent versus the same period last year to $24.8 million. Revenue was higher by 10 percent to $254 million. Adjusted earnings per share were 50 cents, up 4 percent, while analysts had expected 42 cents per share.
Revenue at its Batesville Casket division dropped 2 percent to $152 million due to a 3 percent decrease in North American burials.
