The first trading day of the trading week will have investors closely monitoring the U.S. Presidential Elections on Tuesday, as they begin to ponder the effects of Hurricane Sandy on the economy in the coming months as cities on the East Coast limp their way into the first full work week after the storm.
Good morning, this is Sayoko Murase with the Week Ahead Market Report for November 5, 2012.
In overseas trading, Japan's Nikkei 225 Stock Average was lower by about half of one percent, while the Hang Seng was also lower by about half of one percent. The FTSE 100 was lower by about half of a percent and the German DAX was lower by about six tenths of a percent.
On the earnings front, expect to hear from Acadia Healthcare (NASDAQ:ACHC) on Tuesday, American Waterworks (NYSE:AWK) on Wednesday, Einstein Noah Restaurant Group (BAGL) on Thursday, and Alliant Energy (NASDAQ:LNT) as well as Epoch Holding (IPHC) on Friday.
In economic news, expect to hear data on consumer credit on Wednesday, the trade balance on Wednesday, and wholesale inventories on Friday.
