LDK Solar (NYSE:LDK) announced that its loss for the quarter narroed to to $95.9 million, or $1.08 per diluted share, from $114.5 million, or 87 cents per share, during the samer period last year. Revenue fell by 38.2% versus the same period last year to $291.5 million. Analysts had expected a loss of $1.30 per share on revenue of $225.5 million.
Shares are lower by about 10.2 percent.
Last week, rival ReneSola (NYSE:SOL) announced that it lost $78.6 million, or 91 cents per American depository share for the quarter ended September 30, versus a loss of $8.2 million, or 9 cents per ADS, in the same period a year earlier.
