The iShares S&P Global Technology Sector Index Fund ETF (NYSE:IXN) is seeing unusually high volume in afternoon trading Wednesday, with over 47,000 shares traded versus three month average volume of about 37,000. Shares of IXN were off about 1.1% on the day.
Components of that ETF with the highest volume on Wednesday were Hewlett Packard (NYSE:HPQ), trading up about 3% with over 23.0 million shares changing hands so far this session, and Intel (NASDAQ:INTC), down about 0.9% on volume of over 19.8 million shares. Western Digital (NASDAQ:WDC) is the component faring the best Wednesday, up by about 5.2% on the day, while Red Hat (RHT) is lagging other components of the iShares S&P Global Technology Sector Index Fund ETF, trading lower by about 4.7%.
