The first trading day of the trading week opens today with investors jittery over concerns about the fiscal cliffs and financial uncertainty in Italy.
Good morning, this is Kristin Bianco with the Week Ahead Market Report for December 10, 2012.
In overseas trading, Japan's Nikkei 225 Stock Average was about even, the Hang Seng was higher by about 0.4 percent. The FTSE 100 was lower by 0.16 percent and the German DAX was lower by 0.28 percent.
On the earnings front, expect to hear from Casey's General Stores (NASDAQ:CASY) on Tuesday, Costco (NASDAQ:COST) on Wednesday, and Ciena (NYSE:CIEN), Nordson (NASDAQ:NDSN) and Verifone (NYSE:PAY) on Thursday.
In economic news, expect to hear data on the trade balance on Tuesday, crude inventories on Wednesday, initial claims on Thursday, and capacity utilization on Friday.
