AT&T (NYSE:T) announced two deals this week worth more than $2.68 billion to acquire additional wireless spectrum to increase its high speed services capacity. The company announced on Friday that it agreed to buy airwaves from Verizon Wireless (NYSE:VZ) for $1.9 billion in cash, only a few days after it announced it was paying $790 million in cash to buy Atlantic Tele-Network's (NASDAQ:ATNI) wireless network. The latter deal includes the spectrum, as well as 585,000 customers.
AT&T shares are higher by over half of one percent.
