As the saying goes, there are many possible reasons for an insider to sell a stock, but only one reason to buy -- they expect to make money. So let's look at two noteworthy recent insider buys.
On Friday, Darden Restaurants, Inc. (NYSE:DRI)'s Director, William M. Lewis Jr., made a $494,040 buy of DRI, purchasing 11,000 shares at a cost of $44.91 each. Darden Restaurants, Inc. is trading off about 0.9% on the day Wednesday.
And on Monday, CEO Harlan F. Weisman purchased $114,200 worth of Coronado Biosciences Inc (CNDO), purchasing 20,000 shares at a cost of $5.71 each. This purchase marks the first one filed by Weisman in the past year. Coronado Biosciences Inc is trading up about 2.7% on the day Wednesday.
