Investors are kicking off 2013's second trading week with news that Bank of America (NYSE:BAC) reached a $3.6 billion settlement with Fannie Mae to resolve claims related to residential mortgage loans.
Good morning, this is Kristin Bianco with the Week Ahead Market Report for Jaunary 7, 2013.
In overseas trading, Japan's Nikkei 225 Stock Average was lower by about eight tenths of a percent and the Hang Seng was about even. The FTSE 100 was lower by about four tenths of a percent and the German DAX was lower by about half of one percent.
On the earnings front, expect to hear from Alcoa (NYSE:AA) on Tuesday, Constellation Brands (NYSE:STZ) on Wednesday, SYNNEX (NYSE:SNX) on Thursday, and Wells Fargo (NYSE:WFC) on Friday.
In economic news, expect to hear data on consumer credit on Tuesday, initial claims on Thursday, and the treasury budget on Friday.
