The S&P 500 Volatility Response Shares ETF (AMEX:VSPY) is seeing unusually high volume in afternoon trading Tuesday, with over 237,000 shares traded versus three month average volume of about 72,000. Shares of VSPY were off about 0.3% on the day.
Components of that ETF with the highest volume on Tuesday were Bank of America (NYSE:BAC), trading down about 0.6% with over 44.4 million shares changing hands so far this session, and Apple (NASDAQ:AAPL), up about 1.9% on volume of over 39.5 million shares. Tenet Healthcare (NYSE:THC) is the component faring the best Tuesday, up by about 5.2% on the day, while Avon Products (NYSE:AVP) is lagging other components of the S&P 500 Volatility Response Shares ETF, trading lower by about 4%.
