There was a renewed sense of optimism today on Wall Street with the Dow crossing above 14,000, despite signs of weakness in the housing sector.
The NAHB/Wells Fargo Housing Market index showed a drop in U.S. home builder confidence, down to 46 in February, while economists were expecting a reading of 48.
Shares of Google (NASDAQ:GOOG) hit new highs, soaring to over $800 a share, following reports of possible retail stores in the future.
On the earnings front, Express Scripts (NASDAQ:ESRX) posted better than expected earnings and revenue, thanks to in part to the acquisition of Medco Health Solutions last year in a deal worth $29 billion. Shares of the pharmacy benefit manager are trading sharply higher today.
Tomorrow, we'll take a look at the numbers for housing starts as well as earnings from Devon Energy (NYSE:DVN).
