As the saying goes, there are many possible reasons for an insider to sell a stock, but only one reason to buy -- they expect to make money. So let's look at two noteworthy recent insider buys.
On Tuesday, BancorpSouth Inc. (NYSE:BXS)'s Chief Executive Officer, James D. Rollins III, made a $834,417 purchase of BXS, buying 57,100 shares at a cost of $14.61 each. So far Rollins III is in the green, up about 4.0% on their purchase based on today's trading high of $15.20. BancorpSouth Inc. is trading up about 1.1% on the day Thursday. This buy marks the first one filed by Rollins III in the past year.
And at TASER International Inc. (NASDAQ:TASR), there was insider buying on Monday, by Director Hadi Partovi who bought 50,000 shares at a cost of $7.10 each, for a total investment of $354,925. Before this latest buy, Partovi made one other buy in the past year, purchasing $91,800 shares for a cost of $4.59 a piece. TASER International Inc. is trading up about 4.3% on the day Thursday. So far Partovi is in the green, up about 3.5% on their purchase based on today's trading high of $7.35.
