The iShares Russell 3000 Growth Index Fund ETF (AMEX:IWZ) is seeing unusually high volume in afternoon trading Wednesday, with over 325,000 shares traded versus three month average volume of about 78,000. Shares of IWZ were off about 0.1% on the day.
Components of that ETF with the highest volume on Wednesday were Virgin Media (NASDAQ:VMED), trading off about 2% with over 29.7 million shares changing hands so far this session, and Zynga (NASDAQ:ZNGA), up about 4% on volume of over 20.4 million shares. Goodrich Petroleum (NYSE:GDP) is the component faring the best Wednesday, up by about 19.9% on the day, while Vocus (NASDAQ:VOCS) is lagging other components of the iShares Russell 3000 Growth Index Fund ETF, trading lower by about 17.5%.
