Investors are kicking off the new trading week keeping a close eye on election results in Italy which will play a role in determining the direction of Europe in the coming years.
Good morning this is Sayoko Murase with the Week Ahead Market Report for February 25, 2013.
In overseas trading, Japan's Nikkei 225 Stock Average was higher by about 2.4 percent and the Hang Seng was higher by about 0.17 percent. The FTSE 100 was higher by about 1.21 percent and the German DAX was higher by about 2.24 percent.
On the earnings front, expect to hear from A.M. Castle (NYSE:CAS) on Tuesday, AES (NYSE:AED) on Wednesday, Catamaran (NASDAQ:CTRX) on Thursday, and Charm Communications (NASDAQ:CHRM) as well as Gentherm (NASDAQ:THRM) on Friday.
In economic news, expect to hear data on new home sales on Tuesday, pending home sales on Wednesday, GDP on Thursday, and the Michigan sentiment on Friday.
