Consumer Prices Increase Friday, March 15, 5:11 PM ET
Consumer prices rose at the fastest rate since 2009 in February according to data released on Friday. The consumer price index indicated that prices increased by 0.7% in February, according toe Bureau of Labor Statistics. Rising gasoline prices were the main culprit. Year over year, prices increased at a rate of 2%. Stripping out food and fuel, prices were also up by 2% versus the same period last year.
