Bargain hunters are wise to pay careful attention to insider buying, because although there are many various reasons for an insider to sell a stock, presumably the only reason they would use their hard-earned cash to make a purchase, is that they expect to make money. Today we look at two noteworthy recent insider buys.
At DexCom Inc (NASDAQ:DXCM), a filing with the SEC revealed that on Monday, Director Jay S. Skyler bought 70,000 shares of DXCM, for a cost of $15.50 each, for a total investment of $1.09M. Skyler was up about 6.5% on the buy at the high point of today's trading session, with DXCM trading as high as $16.51 at last check today. DexCom Inc is trading up about 5.2% on the day Tuesday. This buy marks the first one filed by Skyler in the past twelve months.
And on Thursday, Director Henri A. Termeer bought $373,736 worth of AVEO Pharmaceuticals, Inc. (NASDAQ:AVEO), buying 55,499 shares at a cost of $6.73 a piece. Before this latest buy, Termeer made one other buy in the past year, purchasing $293,493 shares for a cost of $6.60 a piece. AVEO Pharmaceuticals, Inc. is trading up about 3.4% on the day Tuesday. Termeer was up about 13.7% on the buy at the high point of today's trading session, with AVEO trading as high as $7.66 at last check today.
