Investors are kicking off the new trading week hoping that U.S. lawmakers will reach on compromise this week and resolve the issues concerning the budget.
Good morning this is Kristin Bianco with the Week Ahead Market Report for March 11, 2013.
In overseas trading, Japan's Nikkei 225 Stock Average was higher by about half of one percent and the Hang Seng was even. The FTSE 100 was higher by about two tenths of a percent and the German DAX was lower by about 0.16 percent.
On the earnings front, expect to hear from Cache (NASDAQ:CACH) and GSI Group (NASDAQ:GSIG) on Tuesday, Alliance HealthCare Services (NASDAQ:AIQ) on Wednesday, Affymax (NASDAQ:AFFY) on Thursday, and Federal Signal (NYSE:FSS) on Friday.
In economic news, expect to hear data on the Treasury Budget on Tuesday, retail sales on Wednesday, producer prices on Thursday, and capacity utilization on Friday.
