Investors are kicking off the new trading week monitoring events in Cyprus after the unprecedented step of taking money from citizen's bank accounts to help finance a bail out was taken.
Good morning this is Kristin Bianco with the Week Ahead Market Report for March 18, 2013.
In overseas trading, Japan's Nikkei 225 Stock Average was higher by about half of one percent and the Hang Seng was even. The FTSE 100 was higher by about half of a percent and the German DAX was lower by about nine tenths of a percent.
On the earnings front, expect to hear from Acorn International (NYSE:ATV) and Adobe (NASDAQ:ADBE) on Tuesday, FedEx (NYSE:FDX) on Wednesday, Met-Pro (NYSE:MTR) on Thursday, and Handy & Harman (NASDAQ:HNH) on Friday.
In economic news, expect to hear data on housing starts on Tuesday, crude inventories on Wednesday, and initial claims on Thursday.
