Investors are kicking off the new trading week fretting over the unresolved "sequester" in the United Sates, as well as harsh new property curbs in China.
Good morning this is Sayoko Murase with the Week Ahead Market Report for March 4, 2013.
In overseas trading, Japan's Nikkei 225 Stock Average was higher by about four tenths of a percent and the Hang Seng was lower by about 1.5 percent. The FTSE 100 was lower by about four tenths of a percent and the German DAX was lower by about four tenths of a percent.
On the earnings front, expect to hear from Assisted Living Concepts (NYSE:ALC) on Tuesday, American Eagle Outfitters (AEO) on Wednesday, Chesapeake Utilities (NYSE:CPK) on Thursday, and BPZ Resources (NYSE:BPZ) as well as Genesco (NYSE:GCO) on Friday.
In economic news, expect to hear data on factory orders on Wednesday, consumer credit on Thursday, and wholesale inventories on Friday.
