This morning, Travelers (NYSE:TRV) reported first quarter earnings of $896 million, or $2.33 per share, easily topping Wall Street estimates. While the company did see revenues drop 1% year-over-year to $6.33 billion, this too was higher than anticipated by analysts. Shares of TRV were showing strength in early trading.
Handbag-designer Coach (COH) saw earnings climb to $238.9 million, or 84 cents per share, in the first quarter on strong global sales. Revenue came in 7% higher year-over-year, topping analyst estimates. The company also reported it would increase its annual dividend by fifteen cents per share. Investors were sending the stock higher this morning as Coach shares have gained more than 11% so far today.
