This morning, LDK Solar (LDK) reported a loss of $187.1 million, or $1.21 per American depository share, as revenue dropped by nearly half. The company saw sales fall to $104.3 million from just over $200 million in the same quarter last year. The entire sector has seen demand soften globally, but the company said it is committed to reining in production costs to withstand the current market conditions. In early trading, shares of LDK Solar were sharply lower.
