This morning, Brookfield Property Partners (BPY) said it is offering to buy the 49% stake in Brookfield Office Properties (BPO) that it doesn't already own for about $5 billion. The all-cash deal values Brookfield Office Properties at $19.34 per share, a 15% premium to Friday's closing price. When the deal goes through, Brookfield Property Partners will have approximately $45 billion in total assets. On the news, shares of Brookfield Property Partners were higher by about 1.5%, while Brookfield Office Properties climbed by more than 15% to the buyout price.
