Bargain hunters are wise to pay careful attention to insider buying, because although there are many various reasons for an insider to sell a stock, presumably the only reason they would use their hard-earned dollars to make a purchase, is that they expect to make money. Today we look at two noteworthy recent insider buys.
On Tuesday, Digital Realty Trust (NYSE:DLR)'s CFO, A. William Stein, made a $529,384 purchase of DLR, buying 10,000 shares at a cost of $52.94 a piece. Digital Realty Trust is trading up about 2.6% on the day Wednesday. This purchase marks the first one filed by Stein in the past year.
And at Southwestern Energy (NYSE:SWN), there was insider buying on Tuesday, by Director Catherine A. Kehr who purchased 10,500 shares at a cost of $37.86 each, for a trade totaling $397,509. This buy marks the first one filed by Kehr in the past twelve months. Southwestern Energy is trading down about 0.1% on the day Wednesday.
