The US markets were headed lower on Monday, giving back some of last week's gains, but the one bright spot today has been Apple (NASDAQ:AAPL). The stock has gained more than 5% so far after very positive reports regarding the sales of the new iPhone.
Good morning this is Kristin Bianco with the Week Ahead Market Report for September 23, 2013.
In overseas trading, Japan's Nikkei 225 Stock Average was closed for trading while the Hang Seng fell just about 0.6% overnight. In Europe on Monday, the FTSE 100 was lower by 0.6% and the German DAX fell by 0.5% today.
On the earnings front, Carnival (NYSE:CCL) reports on Tuesday, Autozone (NYSE:AZO) reports on Wednesday and Nike (NYSE:NKE) reports on Thursday.
On the economic front, new home sales data is released on Wednesday morning, initial jobless claims on Thursday and the personal income report on Friday.
