The market heads into the close with the S&P 500 lower by about 0.7%, as Senate talks have reportedly been halted. CNBC is reporting that the House will propose a new bill to fund the government until mid-December and raise the debt ceiling until February 7.
Heading into the last few minutes of trading, the Dow is down 0.87%, the S&P 500 is down 0.7% and the Nasdaq is losing 0.5%.
Shares of J.C. Penney (JCP) are lower by about 8.4% today on a market rumors, which the company has refuted. Nokia shares are sharply higher by about 4.5% on news that the company will offer certain lengths of Netflix subscriptions to potential customers. And Charles Schwab is higher after posting diluted earnings per common share came at 22 cents beating analyst estimates.
