This morning, Delta Airlines (NYSE:DAL) reported third quarter earnings of $1.37 billion, or $1.59 per share, as revenue climbed by 6% to $10.49 billion. Excluding the gains from fuel hedges, the company would have earned $1.41 per share, topping Wall Street estimates. The company noted in its report that traffic rose by 2% and the revenue earned per passenger mile flown rose by 5%. On the news, shares of Delta were on the move, picking up nearly 5% so far today.
