This morning, Monsanto (NYSE:MON) reported a fiscal fourth quarter loss of $249 million, or 47 cents per share, as sales rose to $2.2 billion. The company lost more than Wall Street expected, adding pressure to the stock price today. In the report, Monsanto also said it is acquiring Climate Corporation in a deal valued at $930 million. Climate Corporation uses weather data to help farmers plan their growing season and maximize yields. With regard to the company's fiscal year 2014 guidance, Monsanto expects to earn in the range of $5.00 to $5.20 per share. In early trading, shares of Monsanto were lower by nearly 3%.
