This morning, Travelers (NYSE:TRV) reported third quarter earnings of $864 million, or $2.30 per share, as revenue came in at $6.45 billion. Excluding investment gains and losses, the company would have earned $2.35 per share, topping Wall Street estimates easily. In the earnings announcement, the board of directors also said it would add $5 billion to its current share repurchase program and declared a dividend of 50 cents per share. On the news, shares of Travelers were higher by 1.3% so far.
