With little news out this morning, the US markets decided to follow the European and Asian markets higher today. In the opening minutes of trading, the Dow Jones Industrial Average hit a new all-time high, crossing above 16,000 for the first time.
Good morning this is Kristin Bianco with the Week Ahead Market Report for November 18, 2013.
In overseas trading, Japan's Nikkei 225 Stock Average was trading flat and the Hang Seng was higher by more than 2.7% overnight. In Europe on Monday, the FTSE 100 was higher by just about 0.5% and the German DAX is higher by 0.8%.
In economic news, investors will see CPI data on Wednesday, initial jobless claims and natural gas inventories on Thursday and the job openings report on Friday.
In earnings news, Best Buy (NYSE:BBY) reports on Tuesday morning, Deere (NYSE:DE) and ADT (ADT) report on Wednesday and Gap (NYSE:GPS) repots on Thursday.
