ADP Sees 238k Jobs Added In December Wednesday, January 8, 11:26 AM ET
This morning, ADP said in the month of December private employers added 238,000 jobs -- much higher than economists had been expecting. In the report, ADP also revised its November job number higher by 14,000 to 229,000 jobs. Investors will be looking ahead to Friday morning when the Labor Department issues its payroll report for the same time period. Economists are expecting the government to report gains of 196,000 jobs. On the news, the US markets were trading lower as investors are associating positive economic news with faster tapering from the Fed.
