The US markets are higher on this last day of March, after news that China may be taking steps to stimulate its economy, and that the European Central Bank maybe be working on stimulus plans of its own. Janet Yellen is speaking in Chicago this morning.
Good morning, this is Tracey Fitzpatrick with the Week Ahead Market Report for March 31, 2014.
In overseas trading, Japan's Nikkei 225 Stock Average was higher by 0.90% and the Hang Seng was up 0.39%. In Europe on Monday, the FTSE 100 was higher by 0.24% and the German DAX was up 0.32% today.
In economic news, Auto and Truck Sales, and Construction Spending are released on Tuesday, Factory Orders on Wednesday, Initial Claims on Thursday and Nonfarm Payrolls on Friday.
In earnings news this week, Apollo Education Group (APOL) releases Tuesday, Monsanto (MON) on Wednesday, Micron Technology (NASDAQ:MU) on Thursday, and Carmax (NYSE:KMX) on Friday.
