Bargain hunters are wise to pay careful attention to insider buying, because although there are many various reasons for an insider to sell a stock, presumably the only reason they would use their hard-earned cash to make a purchase, is that they expect to make money. Today we look at two noteworthy recent insider buys.
On Monday, Cincinnati Financial Corp. (NASDAQ:CINF)'s Director, David P. Osborn, made a $242,108 purchase of CINF, buying 5,000 shares at a cost of $48.42 a piece. Cincinnati Financial Corp. is trading up about 0.2% on the day Wednesday. This purchase marks the first one filed by Osborn in the past year.
And also on Monday, CEO Robert Hamwee purchased $214,692 worth of New Mountain Finance Corp (NASDAQ:NMFC), purchasing 15,000 shares at a cost of $14.31 each. Before this latest buy, Hamwee purchased NMFC at 2 other times during the past year, for a total cost of $396,805 at an average of $14.70 per share. New Mountain Finance Corp is trading up about 0.1% on the day Wednesday.
