The PowerShares Aerospace & Defense Portfolio ETF (NYSE:PPA) is seeing unusually high volume in afternoon trading Monday, with over 319,000 shares traded versus three month average volume of about 40,000. Shares of PPA were up about 1.2% on the day.
Components of that ETF with the highest volume on Monday were Boeing (NYSE:BA), trading up about 1.2% with over 1.6 million shares changing hands so far this session, and Textron (NYSE:TXT), up about 2.6% on volume of over 1.4 million shares. Taser International (TASR) is the component faring the best Monday, up by about 5.9% on the day, while Intelsat (NYSE:I) is lagging other components of the PowerShares Aerospace & Defense Portfolio ETF, trading lower by about 0.7%.
