As the saying goes, there are many possible reasons for an insider to sell a stock, but only one reason to buy -- they expect to make money. So let's look at two noteworthy recent insider buys.
On Wednesday, Natural Resources Partners L.P. (NYSE:NRP)'s Director, Corbin J. Robertson III, made a $268,787 purchase of NRP, buying 20,000 shares at a cost of $13.44 each. So far Robertson III is in the green, up about 14.0% on their purchase based on today's trading high of $15.32. Natural Resources Partners L.P. is trading up about 9% on the day Monday. This buy marks the first one filed by Robertson III in the past twelve months.
And on Friday, CEO C. Keith Cargill bought $267,200 worth of Texas Capital Bancshares (NASDAQ:TCBI), buying 5,000 shares at a cost of $53.44 a piece. This purchase marks the first one filed by Cargill in the past twelve months. Texas Capital Bancshares is trading up about 2.6% on the day Monday.
