The US markets are higher this afternoon, with the Dow up 0.71%, the S&P higher by 0.51% and the Nasdaq up 0.62%. Some of the most actively traded stocks include Advanced Micro Devices (NASDAQ:AMD) up 5%, Bank of America (NYSE:BAC) up 1.3%, Apple (NASDAQ:AAPL) higher by 1.6%, and Citigroup (NYSE:C) up 3.17%.
Good afternoon, this is Kristin Bianco with the Week Ahead Market Report for July 14, 2014.
In overseas trading, Japan's Nikkei 225 Stock Average was higher by 0.88%, and the Hang Seng was up 0.49%. In Europe, the FTSE 100 was up 0.84% and the German DAX was up 1.21% today.
In economic news, Retail Sales, Export Prices, Import Prices and Business Inventories come out tomorrow. PPI is released on Wednesday, Initial Claims and Housing Starts on Thursday and Leading Indicators on Friday.
Companies releasing earnings this week include: Goldman Sachs (NYSE:GS) on Tuesday, Bank of America (NYSE:BAC) on Wednesday, Advanced Micro Devices (NASDAQ:AMD) on Thursday, and General Electric (NYSE:GE) on Friday.
