The best performing sector as of midday Wednesday is the Utilities sector, higher by 0.8%. Within the sector, AES Corp. (NYSE:AES) and DTE Energy Co (NYSE:DTE) are two large stocks leading the way, showing a gain of 1.7% and 1.6%, respectively. Among utilities ETFs, one ETF following the sector is the Utilities Select Sector SPDR ETF (NYSE:XLU), which is up 0.8% on the day, and up 1.11% year-to-date. AES Corp., meanwhile, is up 22.99% year-to-date, and DTE Energy Co, is down 1.84% year-to-date. Combined, AES and DTE make up approximately 4.2% of the underlying holdings of XLU.

The next best performing sector is the Financial sector, losing just 0.5%. Among large Financial stocks, Humana Inc. (NYSE:HUM) and Apartment Investment & Management Co (NYSE:AIV) are the most notable, showing a gain of 1.6% and 1.5%, respectively. One ETF closely tracking Financial stocks is the Financial Select Sector SPDR ETF (XLF), which is down 0.6% in midday trading, and down 2.39% on a year-to-date basis. Humana Inc., meanwhile, is up 28.33% year-to-date, and Apartment Investment & Management Co, is down 0.13% year-to-date.
