Looking at the sectors faring best as of midday Thursday, shares of Energy companies are outperforming other sectors, higher by 0.3%. Within that group, TechnipFMC plc (NYSE:FTI) and Diamondback Energy, Inc. (NASDAQ:FANG) are two large stocks leading the way, showing a gain of 5.0% and 1.8%, respectively. Among energy ETFs, one ETF following the sector is the Energy Select Sector SPDR ETF (NYSE:XLE), which is up 0.1% on the day, and up 15.14% year-to-date. TechnipFMC plc, meanwhile, is up 17.42% year-to-date, and Diamondback Energy, Inc. is up 13.73% year-to-date. Combined, FTI and FANG make up approximately 2.1% of the underlying holdings of XLE.

The next best performing sector is the Financial sector, not showing much of a loss. Among large Financial stocks, Northern Trust Corp (NASDAQ:NTRS) and The Charles Schwab Corporation (NYSE:SCHW) are the most notable, showing a gain of 2.6% and 1.2%, respectively. One ETF closely tracking Financial stocks is the Financial Select Sector SPDR ETF (XLF), which is up 0.2% in midday trading, and up 11.42% on a year-to-date basis. Northern Trust Corp, meanwhile, is up 13.55% year-to-date, and The Charles Schwab Corporation is up 8.67% year-to-date. Combined, NTRS and SCHW make up approximately 2.4% of the underlying holdings of XLF.
