Looking at the sectors faring worst as of midday Tuesday, shares of Energy companies are underperforming other sectors, showing a 0.9% loss. Within that group, Baker Hughes, A GE Company (NYSE:BHGE) and ConocoPhillips (NYSE:COP) are two large stocks that are lagging, showing a loss of 2.3% and 2.2%, respectively. Among energy ETFs, one ETF following the sector is the Energy Select Sector SPDR ETF (NYSE:XLE), which is down 0.8% on the day, and up 16.83% year-to-date. Baker Hughes, A GE Company, meanwhile, is up 27.33% year-to-date, and ConocoPhillips is up 6.71% year-to-date. Combined, BHGE and COP make up approximately 7.5% of the underlying holdings of XLE.
The next worst performing sector is the Services sector, showing a 0.3% loss. Among large Services stocks, Walgreens Boots Alliance Inc (NASDAQ:WBA) and Kroger Co (NYSE:KR) are the most notable, showing a loss of 12.7% and 2.5%, respectively. One ETF closely tracking Services stocks is the iShares U.S. Consumer Services ETF (IYC), which is down 0.2% in midday trading, and up 14.21% on a year-to-date basis. Walgreens Boots Alliance Inc, meanwhile, is down 18.28% year-to-date, and Kroger Co , is down 12.67% year-to-date. Combined, WBA and KR make up approximately 1.8% of the underlying holdings of IYC.
